Robert Gniewek (b. 1951, Detroit, Michigan) embraces the atmospheric quality of photography with depictions of city scenes at dusk that emphasize the artificial light produced by theater marquees, diners, and bars. He frequently paints cities including New York, Las Vegas, and Monaco and his work is held in public collections throughout the Midwest. He received both his B.F.A. and M.A. from Wayne State University in Detroit.
