Susan Pear Meisel (b. 1947, New York, NY) has been painting for over 50 years. Her colorful and vibrant scenes often depict landmarks in NYC and other major cities in the USA. Meisel’s paintings contain an illustrative quality – her use of ink and lines create a playful layering within the composition. Susan’s paintings was chosen to participate in the U.S. Department of State Art in Embassies Program. She has been commissioned to paint landmarks across NYC and in Washington DC, like the painting above of the “Kennedy Center”. Due to the success of these joyous and painterly depictions, Meisel’s worked to turn her paintings into lithographs and prints which have been wildly popular.
